Laura Sheen, Executive Assistant, Nile HQ

Based in Edinburgh, Laura Sheen is the Executive Assistant at Nile HQ and played a vital behind-the-scenes role in the success of the Liberation Convoy.

Laura Sheen, Executive Assistant, Nile HQLaura was instrumental in helping to organise the official Liberation Convoy event at the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 28 May, as well as key commemorative moments at the Palace of Hollyroodhouse and Edinburgh Castle during the historic visit of wartime merchant ship Hestmanden to Leith.

Working with commitment and precision, Laura supported the detailed logistics behind these events and ensured a smooth experience for Norwegian and Scottish guests alike.

She also worked closely with Nile HQ CEO Dag Lee, assisting with preparations ahead of his participation in the voyage across the North Sea from Bergen to Shetland, a modern-day echo of the wartime Shetland Bus missions.

Though Laura didn’t sail with the convoy, she has followed the journey with great pride and interest. Her contributions reflect a deep appreciation for the legacy of the war sailors and the extraordinary bravery of those involved in the Shetland Bus operations.

The team behind Frigjøringskonvoien extends heartfelt thanks to Laura for her enthusiasm, care and hard work in honouring the shared history between Norway and Scotland. Her efforts helped ensure these commemorations were meaningful, dignified and memorable.
