Malcolm Borthwick, Communications Team

Malcolm Borthwick is Head of Marketing and Strategic Communications at Walter Scott, a long-term global investment manager.

He previously held the role of Editor and Director of Communications at Baillie Gifford and before that, worked as a journalist for the BBC, leading economics and business bureaux in Asia and the Middle East.

As part of The Liberation Convoy 2025, Malcolm is a member of the communications team, supporting and promoting the convoy during its time in Scotland. Based near Edinburgh, he will also be joining the journey to help tell the story of this unique initiative.

Malcolm’s involvement is driven by a deep respect for the legacy of wartime heroes and the enduring connection between Shetland, Scotland, Britain and Norway. He believes the story of The Liberation Convoy is extraordinary and worth sharing widely, especially at a time when global tensions highlight the importance of peace, partnership and remembrance. He is proud to be part of such a committed and passionate team.
