D/S Hestmanden in Lerwick
The end of a wonderful visit
The D/S Hestmanden has been docked in Lerwick, it’s first port of call after leaving Norway on The Liberation Convoy
On the 11th May, our beautiful visit to Lerwick is approached its end. About 5500 people have visited us aboard the Norwegian War Sailors Museum and we are so grateful to you all.
For the first time in more than 60 years, Hestmanden has gone abroad and Lerwick was the first stop. The reception we got is out of this world and we will never forget it. Thank you to our big Shetland family.
At about 6pm that evening, Hestmanden left for Stromness in the Orkneys, the next stop of the Liberation Convoy tour.
